Email Terry Smith

Since founding Strata with his wife and fellow Director Diana in 1977, Terry has expanded the business from its core speciality of Body Corporate Management to include Insurance, Maintenance, Property Management and Consulting Divisions.  Strata Data has also expanded to Victoria.

Terry is a founding member and Fellow of the Community Titles Institute (SA)  previously the Strata Administrators Institute, has served as a council member for over 20 years, was President on three occasions,  is a  founding member of the National Community Titles Institute, a member of Owners Corporations Victoria and a member of the Real Estate Institute of SA since 1987.

With his extensive knowledge of all body corporate legislation, Terry has co-authored and lectured for specific body corporate education within the industry.  He continues to provide expert advice to other agencies and the general public.

Terry is also Chair of “Believe Foundation Inc.”.  Its primary focus is to provide quality supported accommodation for the mentally ill.  www.believefoundation.org.au

Email Diana Smith

As joint founder of Strata Data in 1977, Di has worked in all secretarial and administrative areas at Strata Data including accounts, maintenance, insurance – renewals and claims, new business, client service and with husband and fellow director  Terry, responded to after hours emergency calls for many years.  Di is a member of the Group Management Team and has overall responsibility for office fit-outs, equipment, supplies and décor.  Di’s attention to detail is well recognised within the Group.  Prior to Strata Data, Di ran her own successful word processing and secretarial service.

Di is also Secretary and Public Officer of “Believe Foundation Inc.”.  The primary focus of the Foundation is to provide quality supported accommodation for the mentally ill:   www.believefoundation.org.au

Email Paul Smith

Paul joined the Strata Data Group 22 years ago. Since that time he has worked in all areas of the business.  In 2006 he became General Manager of company - and Paul was recently appointed Chief Executive Officer of the Strata Data Group (January 2010). He has been at the forefront of the body corporate industry for many years and has served actively on the state board of the Community Titles Institute of South Australia (CTI SA). 

Paul holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the Adelaide University  and is a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.   Paul is also the Chairman for St Johns Youth Services, http://www.stjohnsyouthservices.org.au/index.html . St John’s Youth Services is a community based organisation that provides accommodation and related support services to homeless young people and children.

Email Brett Earle

Brett is a qualified builder from England who has worked in the commercial construction industry in Europe, America and Australia.   He started at Strata Data in 2000 as a Body Corporate Manager and has risen through the management structure to his present position.

Brett joined Strata Data from a large South Australian development company and has a broad understanding of all facets of the construction industry.  Brett is also a key Board Member of the Community Titles Institute of South Australia (CTI SA) and has recently finished work to produce the State Constitution for our industry and is currently working on a TAFE training package and a Media Division at a State level.   Brett has completed a Bachelor of Business (Commercial Law) at the University of South Australia, an Advanced Diploma in Business Management at Adelaide TAFE and holds a City & Guilds Master Carpenter (UK).

Email Lyn Kitchener

Lyn joined Strata Data in 1999, as Manager of the Insurance Division. Previously, Lyn worked in the insurance industry for more than thirty years.  For fifteen of those years she worked in London with various Lloyds' Brokers, dealing with general insurance, including with Minet & Company for eleven years. Lyn emigrated to Australia in 1990 and was employed by CHUU until 1999, working in liaison with their State Manager in all aspects of Strata Title insurance. Lyn is a recognised expert in this field.

Lyn holds a Diploma in General Insurance Code of Practice and also has attained Tier 1 compliance under the Financial Services Review Act.

Email Liz Mansell

Liz spent fifteen years with Allianz Insurance, gaining a broad knowledge of insurance claim procedures.  With more than tewenty two years experience within the insurance industry, and for the past twelve years solely in claims management, Liz brought extensive experience to her position, when she joined the Strata Data Group in 2004.

Liz has attained Tier 2 compliance under the Financial Services Review Act and is an Affiliate of the Insurance Institute of Australia.

Email Paul Effingham

Paul joined Strata Data in 2000 to manage the extensive Maintenance Division, including a staff of fourteen trades people (currently carpenters, plumbers, painters as well as general trades people).  Paul also manages the external contractors, undertakes building inspections and assists engineers in their reporting process.

Prior to working for Strata Data, Paul worked in the commercial building industry, including six years with Kennetts as a site supervisor.  Paul has supervised a number of large projects including the Goodwood Community Centre, Calvary Hospital, Schools and other sites with building budgets up to 60 million dollars.  He has overseen large multi-stage projects and liaised with developers, builders, local councils and other stakeholders.

Paul holds a Building Licence, an Advanced Certificate in Building Technology, and is a qualified Carpenter and Joiner and Concreter.

Email Emma Belegris

Emma joined the Strata Data Group as their Human Resources Manager in May 2007. Emma has a diverse HR background, having worked in both public and private organisations across a variety of industries. Emma’s experience includes working for defence contractor Raytheon Australia on the multi billion dollar Air Warfare Destroyer Program, as well as spending some time with the South Australian Department of Health.

Emma holds a Bachelor of Human Resource Management from the University of South Australia and is currently completing a Post-Graduate Diploma in Management which she will put towards her Masters in Management. Emma is also a member of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI).
